FAQs

Q: Is Blackout Rugby Free to Play?
A: Yes, Blackout Rugby is Free to Play. While we offer in-game purchases like the ability to purchase tokens and a premium subscription experience, ultimately, Blackout Rugby is a free experience.

Q: Is Blackout Rugby Pay-To-Win?
A: We care very deeply about a balanced experience, so we’ve spent a large amount of our development time minimizing Pay-To-Win within our game, with a method of design we call: Pay-For-Variety. Paying users are given more freedom, like the ability to purchase more card packs, scout more players, more club customization, and much more. However, all clubs are bound by the same restrictions, such as only running a limited amount of trainings, playing a limited amount of cards per day, and so on. Thus, players who spend money on these features will have more options at their disposal, but they may sacrifice speciality with this additional breadth. Ultimately, a player’s understanding of Rugby and their ability to manage their club is what will bring them success. We wrote extensively about this in our Blog, which you can read here.

Q: Does Blackout Rugby feature real-world Rugby teams, like the All-Blacks?
A: All clubs and teams in Blackout Rugby are virtual and fictitious. At this moment, no real-world Rugby teams exist in our game. Each player is given full freedom over their own fictional club to design it as they wish. Although we are very open to the possibility of collaborating with real Rugby Teams in the future.

Q: Is Blackout Rugby playable on consoles?
A: Unfortunately not. Blackout Rugby is playable on IOS, Android, and PC through Steam.

Q: I don’t know a lot about Rugby, can I still play Blackout Rugby?
A: Of course! While there is a lot of depth to our game, we also provide an extensive tutorial system to help you become acquainted with your club. We also included generalised training regimes and match tactics, if you find things a bit overwhelming.

Q: Do you have plans to release more Sports Manager Games?
A: Absolutely. Within our current development roadmap is Blackout Football, followed by Blackout Cricket, and many more games we will announce closer to their launch. For a small studio, we have big dreams and a lot more on the horizon.
